We, the undersigned, petition the Prime Minister to Compensate those who had not reached the state retirement age of 65 when the EU ban on Ageism was implemented in October 2006, but who had already passed the age of 60 and been compulsorily retired by the Civil Service.

Your Chancellor of the Exchequer has recently demonstrated a penchant for retrospective legislation (tax on air travel). He should therefore have no difficulty compensating those severely disadvantaged by being retired by the your ageist Civil Service at the age 60 when a) the state retirement pension is not paid until the age of 65, and b) these people were still under the age of 65 when ageism was outlawed in 2006.
