We, the undersigned, petition the Prime Minister to Stop the proliferation of Mandarin in schools on the grounds it is too difficult despite the fact that the TImes think’s it isn’t
We should be promoting European languages based on an alphabetic system rather than Mandarin which is pictogram and ideogram based. YES, learn a euro language first THEN go on to MANDARIN or Arabic etc, not the other way round.
This petition closed on Thursday 28 February 2008 without having attracted any support at all. The creator was left in a minority of one. Here’s your chance to comment on this petition.
I’m slightly puzzled as to what The Times has to do with it.
