abstain from discrediting Stan Tracey’s contribution to music by giving him an ‘honour’.
We, the undersigned, petition the Prime Minister to abstain from discrediting Stan Tracey’s contribution to music by giving him an ‘honour’.
Stan Tracey has already been in receipt of an MBE. However the most important thing about him is the quality of his music and his contribution to the development of British jazz. Associating him with a discreditable and discredited honours system further would damage his reputation. The most important contribution the Prime Minister can make to that is to stay away from it.
