We, the undersigned, petition the Prime Minister to Make the VAT registration system more efficient for overseas applicants
VAT registration timescales, measured in periods of more than 4 months is possibly the single most important obstacle to setting up business in the UK and makes the UK the slowest country in the OECD for setting up a company READY TO TRADE. The current system has no validity for overseas / EU companies who wish to operate from the UK since it does not enable the VIES system to operate.Without VIES EU companies cannot trade. It is losing the country Billions in inward investment
