We, the undersigned, petition the Prime Minister to set the right to buy discount to 50%
if the discount was set at 50% more people would by their house
people look after their own property better
selling the house would release money to the government
i live in a £200,000 house with my family i can not get a mortgage for that amount i could if we had equity of 50%
it makes sense for the nation to get £100,000 now instead of £5,000 rent a year (less costs)
some of this money could be used in helping private sector first time buyers as a deposit loan at 6% p.a
by my basic calculations there would be a net gain of over £1,000 a year
