We, the undersigned, petition the Prime Minister to repudiate the petition "paycouncilservs" which asks for a "pay as you go" method of funding council services
I would agree that the current method of paying for local services seems unfair in that it is based on value of accommodation rather than ability to pay. However I would emphatically disagree with this proposal; where would it leave people who COULDN’T AFFORD to pay for a specific service? As an extreme example would they have to burn to death because they couldn’t afford to pay for the service of their local fire-fighters?
