We, the undersigned, petition the Prime Minister to ignore the petition asking that taxpayers may specify where they do not want their taxes spent
I agree that this seems like an extension of democracy; and I even agree with the issues the petitioner mentions. But judging by many of the petitions on this site, and by letters on Ceefax and Teletext, most people would do this by venting their prejudices against so-called illegal asylum seekers and immigrants, not to mention benefit claimants, to the great detriment of the lives of members of these groups of people.
